Eric McKee - Educator at ScienceCastle.com
Biography:
Eric (Slow the Flow Program Coordinator) has always had a passion for the environment, and in high school he discovered that you don't need to be a whiz at physics, math, or chemistry in order to be a scientist. Eric pursued his passion by earning a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the SUNY - College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. By studying forests, people, animals, and our interactions with all of these things, he decided that the best way to contribute to the field of science was to share his love of nature with others. Eric has studied and worked in all sorts of interesting places, from river rafting past Mt. McKinley, to sampling aquatic insects in Lake Tahoe - educating as many people as were willing to listen, along the way.
After finishing college, Eric travelled the U.S. learning different tools and methods for teaching others about the environment before finally landing at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Alviso, CA. Here Eric coordinates the Slow the Flow Program, helping students and residents understand the connection between their actions at home, and their effects on the environment.
