Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How can I earn Science Points

How can I earn Science Points

You can earn Science Points in three different ways. The first one is dependent on what you do at the Science Castle. Since April 08, 2007 you can earn points for the following actions:

  • user logged in 1 Science Point
  • experiment started 1 Science Point
  • experiment observed 1 Science Point
  • experiment explained 1 Science Point
  • experiment picture uploaded 10 Science Points
  • experiment rated 5 Science Points
  • experiment submitted 50 Science Points
  • book recommended 10 Science Points
  • book rated 5 Science Points
  • book sold 20 Science Points
  • discussion started 10 Science Points
  • reply posted 2 Science Points
  • chat room entered 1 Science Point
  • invitation sent 10 Science Points
  • profile picture uploaded 10 Science Points
  • article submitted 50 Science Points

The second method of accumulating points is dependent on how often and how well other students rate the experiments, articles, and book recommendations you provide. The number of ratings * the average rating defines the Science Points that you get. I.e. if your book recommendation was rated 3 times with an average rating of 4 you receive 12 Science Points. This method of getting points applies to all book recommendations, articles, and science experiments that have ever been submitted to the Science Castle since its existence.

The third method to accumulate points is tied to our referer program. Show your support and simply include one of our cool banners in your blog and receive 1 Science Point every time someone clicks on it.
